The 20th edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test examination will be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education in 2025. The CTET Exam is expected to be conducted tentatively in the month of January 2025. The eligible candidates shall have to register online and submit an online application form for the CTET 2025 examination. Any candidates who seek recruitment either as a primary teacher or elementary teacher in the Central Government schools have to appear for the CTET for that eligibility certificate. For this, aspirants must know the revised CTET 2025 examination process, pattern, and syllabus.

The first process step will be the CTET notification 2025. The official notification of CTET January 2025 shall be published by the CBSE at ctet.nic.in. Following the official notification, the CTET application form 2025 will be issued. Candidates need to meet the prescribed CTET Eligibility Criteria 2025 regarding the age limit and educational qualification for applying to the exam. CTET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

In order to appear for the CTET, the candidate must meet the eligibility criteria. Following is the CTET eligibility 2025 with respect to educational qualification and age limit:

CTET Eligibility 2025 Paper 1

Candidates must meet any of the following eligibility criteria to appear for the CTET Paper 1:

Senior Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year examination of Diploma in Elementary Education. OR

Senior Secondary or its equivalent examination with minimum 50 per cent marks and cleared or appearing in final year examination of Bachelor of Elementary Education (4 years duration). OR

Senior Secondary or its equivalent examination with minimum 50 per cent marks and cleared or appearing final year examination of Diploma in Education (2 years duration). OR

Graduated with a BEd.

Eligibility for CTET, 2025: Paper 2

The candidates should satisfy any one of the following eligibility criteria for appearing in CTET Paper 2:

Graduation degree and has passed or is appearing in final year Exam of two year Diploma in Elementary Education. OR

Graduation degree with 50 per cent marks and has passed or appearing in final year examination of B.Ed. OR

Graduation degree with 40 per cent marks and has cleared or appearing in the final year exam of B.Ed., according to NCTE regulations. OR

Senior Secondary or its equivalent test with a minimum of 50 per cent marks and has cleared or appearing in final year exam of 4 years duration Bachelor of Elementary Education. OR

Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with at least 50 percent marks and passed or appearing in the final year exam of B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed or B.A/B.Sc.Ed. OR

Graduation degree having 50 per cent marks and has passed or appearing in Bed Program of 1-year duration.

CTET Application Form 2025

The Online application form for the CTET 2025 examination will be available along with the official notification. The CTET application form 2025 link will remain active for approximately one month. Application Fee

CTET Registration Fee 2025, the fee structure is detailed below. For General and OBC category candidates, the fee for registering for one paper is INR 1,000, while for two papers, it is INR 1,200. For candidates belonging to the SC/ST categories or those who are differently abled, the fee for one paper is INR 500 and for two papers, it is INR 600.

Exam Pattern

The exam pattern of the CTET 2025 is different for both Paper 1 and Paper 2. The important highlights have been given herein: 

CTET Paper 1 is a computer-based test and comprises five subjects: Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language-II, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies. The duration of this examination is 2 hours and 30 minutes, including 150 multiple-choice questions of one mark each.

On the other hand, CTET Paper 2 is also computer-based but comprises four subjects itself: Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language-II, and either Mathematics and Science or Social Studies/Social Science. This paper would also consist of a 2 hours 30 minutes duration test with 150 MCQs of one mark each.

Both papers have the same marking scheme, awarding +1 for each correct answer; there is no negative marking done for wrong answers. The question paper will be bilingual, in both English and Hindi, and the candidate can write any exam in the language of their choice.
